Additional Member Services encourage active participation by all Member Boards and provide quality resources that assist Member Boards in their regulatory mission. The AAVSB acts to best serve its members by being responsive, resourceful, and always striving for continuous quality improvement.

Annual Meeting & Conference

One of the most recognized Member Services is the Annual Meeting & Conference. This meeting brings together Member Boards to collaborate, educate, network, and conduct business providing direction for the Association.

Member Board Profile Survey

AAVSB annually surveys its Member Boards to report profile data on board operations and statutory responsibilities.

Practice Act Model (PAM)

The AAVSB Practice Act Model (PAM) is a resource for Member Boards containing contemporary language regarding the regulation of veterinary medicine and veterinary technology.

VIVA License & Discipline Database

As part of their mission of protecting the public, Member Boards routinely submit licensee information to the VIVA database. Member Boards electronically submit this information through the AAVSB's online portal or submit files by email. Please email questions related to reporting licensee information to

Veterinary Continuing Education Tracking (VCET)

VCET provides a free and easy way for AAVSB Member Boards to receive CE information directly from licensees. Email AAVSB Director of Program Operations & Strategic Initiatives Vic Cook to learn how to set up your automatic VCET reports.


Through a secure online account, Member Boards have rights to access discussion forums (for both Board Administrators and Board Members), Annual Meeting registration details, post-Annual Meeting materials, VTNE Eligibility review, and most recently, licensee CE information. New Board Member Training (NBMT)

The AAVSB New Board Member Training is designed for the members of veterinary medicine regulatory boards. Topics to be covered during the training include the role and responsibilities of board members, political realities of boards, adjudication/discipline/enforcement, and other current regulatory issues.
