RACE Standards

Requirements for Provisional Provider Approval Status

Providers who do not meet the requirements for Full Provider Approval Status may apply for a one-year Provisional Provider Status. This approval may be converted to Full Approval Status upon completion of the requirements, and the receipt by RACE of a letter advising the same. Applicants for Provisional Provider approval must:

  • Submit a completed Provider Application form (select Microsoft Word form or PDF version) to RACE, or apply using our Online Provider Application. A completed application includes:
    • Payment of Application Fee ($250.00).
    • Three (3) letters of reference from individuals who can support the organization's ability to:
      • Coordinate CE,
      • Maintain adequate records, and
      • Present CE programs which meet RACE standards in the field of Veterinary Medicine.
    • Sample or draft CE program with all relevant attachments (see Program Application Requirements) to demonstrate the type of CE program(s) the Provider will present, upon approval.
  • Identify one person to act as RACE Program Administrator. The Program Administrator will:
    • Be responsible for all submissions to and contacts with RACE regarding programs.
    • Be responsible for ensuring that all programs presented, including those that are co-sponsored, meet RACE requirements and standards.
    • Be responsible for transition to any new administrator, including prompt notification to RACE of the change of contact.
  • Agree to use required RACE language and Provider numbers only on materials pertaining to courses which have been submitted to and approved by RACE.
