AAVSB Releases Updated Strategy Map for 2017

Kansas City, MO (April 12, 2017) - The American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) has released its updated Strategy Map for 2017. The AAVSB Board of Directors is tasked with developing the Strategic Plan and Strategy Map for the organization. The Board of Directors meets in-person biannually and meets via conference call periodically throughout the year. The AAVSB Executive Director James T. Penrod, CAE, FASLA, works with the AAVSB staff to carry out this strategy.

"The Board of Directors completed an environmental scan that looked at changes around us that may be impacting the future of the regulation of veterinary medicine," remarked Mr. Penrod. "The environmental scan in combination with a look at the results of our strategic progress over the past year allowed the Board to review and adjust the strategy to ensure we are moving the organization in the right direction. This 'strategic thinking' process allows the organization to continually assess progress and ensure that we are advancing towards our long-term strategic vision."

The AAVSB President Dr. Frank Walker added, "Our members have entrusted us with the task of setting the strategic vision for the organization and we don't take that responsibility lightly. I'm thrilled with the planning that the Board of Directors has done and excited to see this vision implemented."

About the AAVSB: The AAVSB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to support and advance the regulatory process for veterinary medicine. The membership of the AAVSB consists of 61 jurisdictions representing all of the United States and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and eight Canadian provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan.
