AAVSB Hires Director of Program Operations & Strategic Initiatives

Kansas City, MO.  The AAVSB (American Association of Veterinary State Boards) announces the hiring of a new Director of Program Operations and Strategic Initiatives. Victor (Vic) Cook, of Kansas City, Missouri, joined the association on April 1, 2013. Cook will be responsible for leading the AAVSB's four key programs: VIVA (Veterinary Information Verifying Agency), RACE (Registry of Approved Continuing Education), PAVE (Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence) and the VTNE (Veterinary Technician National Examination.)

Cook will also provide leadership to the strategic planning process and other functional areas of the organization's business and will direct the technology initiatives.

Cook's most recent employment includes serving as the Director of Procurement for EnerGov Solutions, LLC and serving as the Deputy and Acting Manager for the City of Kansas City, Missouri's Regulated Industries Division. Cook brings a solid background in senior leadership and has enhanced knowledge and experience in the area of industry regulation, program management, business planning, statistical analysis and model development, and technology.

Cook holds an MBA with an emphasis in Organizational Development from Rockhurst College, Kansas City, MO. He has had additional training in leadership and management, public speaking, and data warehousing.
