The American Association of Veterinary State Boards is a not-for-profit membership organization comprised of 62 Member Boards dedicated to the proper and efficient regulation of veterinary medicine in the interest of public protection. The AAVSB is in search of a Full-Time Accounts Receivable (A/R) Associate. This administrative specialist supports the accounting of the Association as a member of the accounting team and by processing incoming payments. The AR Associate will be based out of the AAVSB office located in Kansas City, MO.
Successful use of QuickBooks.
Accurate, detailed entry of online payments.
Timely processing of refund requests.
Processing of credit card and check payments using mobile deposit systems.
Consistent electronic and paper file maintenance.
Questioning of processes to ensure best approach is being used.
Suggesting and explaining new or different processes.
Active member of both the accounting team and the administrative team.
Appropriately communicates through phone, email, and Teams with vendors, consultants, volunteers, and staff to obtain necessary accounting documentation.
Positive, dedicated staff member of the Association.
Accepting projects as assigned.
Skills:
Excellent customer service, organizational, and communications skills.
High Knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
Experience working with a Database.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in a professional office.
Education and Experience:
Required: Two years of booking experience.
Preferred: Associate’s degree or a minimum of two years’ relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting at a nonprofit association.
Other Details: The AAVSB is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. This position will be required to report to office daily.
